After Amanda's hike we were loaded on to the army transport jeep (there were about 16 campers) and we drove off into the bush looking for critters! As you can see we were very close to 2 black bears and 1 grizzly! That's as close as I ever want to be. As we disembarked from the truck, I noted that Grizzly Bob had a 30/30 rifle with him, and apparently he had it at the ready when we encountered the bears.
It was an evening to remember. There were several people with us who said this was a way better experience than going on the buses at Denali Park!
