Carmacks thru' Whitehorse
We camped overnight at Carmacks, which is a small town along the Yukon River. We had a lovely site, away from the traffic and we walked the boardwalk at night, and then I ran it the next morning. We met a few of the local folks and they were friendly and interesting - told us about their new rec centre (looked well designed and used) and life in the north. The next morning we traveled south and basically bypassed White Horse (we will come back this way in a few weeks) but I was really surprised by the huge sandy banks of the Yukon River. We cicumnavigated Lake Kluane, which was huge and beautiful. Colours better than Kalamalka!
