White Sands National Monument

I get confused by the "National Monument" title - it really means that its something nifty to see. These dunes were south of Alamogordo, New Mexico. They are soooo white it hurts your eyes, even with sun glasses on. The camera refused to take pictures because it was so white. They were continuously grading the roads (like snow plowing) as the wind was constant and strong. We did a little hiking and sliding down the dunes. Really neat - I bet we went through 4 bottles of water that day.
