We toured the dam. Quite interesting to go down 600' to the base of the dam. The elevators and tunnels were all beautiful, tiled. The nearest turbine was being worked on. Guess they don't want any wobbles in it! They generate 1.3M kilowatts - interesting - not as much as the nearby coal power generating station. But the control of the river in flooding and to provide water to specific states in specific amounts are what the dam is really about. The agreements for the amount of water provided to each state was agreed upon in 1927! The last picture is looking up to the information centre at the level of the parking lot.
